Would rally points be a nice addition to Warfare Incorporated?

Rally points would make the game much more balanced. Basically, the player would be able to assign rally points for each HRC/VTS so when a unit is built, it automatically travels to the desired point.

Are you referring to the Starcraft mechanism? Where you can assign the spot a unit will go after being built. The only thing we have like that right now is the "Move Units to Area" trigger.

There is no selective rally point in-game just yet. That is half the skill in the game though. Attacking, building, mining, exploring, defending, ordering; all at the same time. That seems like too much of a handicap. Gameplay is fine as is, for now.

if there are set positions in the map for builders you can place areas over the spawn areas and move those units built in that area onto another area on the map, the rally point(s)
for example:

area x contains at least 1 any unit owned by current side

move all units owned by current side from area x to area y
preserve trigger

When u build units in a vts u can have a choice to select a point where you want your units to go straight away after they get buildt

This is what he means, and what I feel would weaken the challenge of the game.

I have a VTS, building broadswords. I click on it. I have four options. Build vehicles, repair the VTS, and sell the VTS. All standard. The fourth option is a rally point. Normally, when building my broadswords, they just spawn in front of the VTS and don't move until commanded to. Let's say I click the rally point option. Now I click anywhere on the map where I want my units to go after spawning. After doing so, every unit built after I have set the rally point will then go to the spot I chose, ignoring enemies along the way, until it reaches its destination. So instead of my broadswords standing still when built, they will automatically move to the rally point somewhere on the map, where I set it.

This takes the challenge out of the game. I vote no.

its a helpful command

but part of been a good player is the movement of your troops from your base to your attack formation. using rally points defeats the purpose of that and makes it easier to play the game.

I don't think that rally points would take away the challenge aspect of WI. After all, troop movements and team tactics are half the game. It is merely a way of simplifying a task that we do anyway. Plus, rally points will balance out North Vs South maps. Maybe there could be some kind of restriction on how far a waypoint can extend. That way, players won't be able to immediately send troops into battle.

all rts games on pc have rally points



like warcraft , warhammer 40000 , company of horoes , starcraft all those games have rally points

its not a bad idea to have rally points coz alot of rts games have rally points
