As a host should I set the bluetooth configuration to DISCOVERABLE?
Should I bond the other player first?
When the other player is trying connect to host by specifying the ip number, the response always: CONNECTION REFUSED
What is the proper way?
I appreciate so much if anyone can help me out...
THX SO MUCH... |

Yes, make your device discoverable. This isn't a breach of security, so there's no risk in it.
It is a good idea to pair the devices...
If you are playing over bluetooth, you don't need to specify the IP address. If bluetooth is working, then it should list all bluetooth devices automatically. _________________ [WI Moderator]

I'm so greatful to read some helpful tips from Verdagon,
unfortunately, it's still not working via bluetooth
the other device who want to join the game never reach the host, it'll continue searching forever... or how long should I wait?
even the host already paired to that device.

Sometimes you need to close the program down and then start it up again.... turn bluetooth off and then back on... That worked for me most of the time. Try that. |

...and if all else fails, blame it on your PDA's manufacturer. Return it under warranty. Use the money from that to buy a state-of-the-art new PDA and reinstall Warfare.
Worked when I did it. _________________ [WI Moderator]

Thanks so much for ur supports both UGMC & Verdagon.
So far I haven't heard any xda2 succeed establishing bluetooth connection for this game, so at this moment I almost give up.
One last probable cause might be the interuption from my bluetooth headset, which is always bonded to my pocket PC, is this possible? |

Yah when me and my friend first got that set up it was a pain
Serial Connections man thats how i do it
Based on your settings for bluetooth you may need to pair (bond) with the
other device before you can connect over a serial connection, before i
connected over a serial connection it just nvr did anything, now it does. |

To reply to Woobaz's post...
Do you mean to play a local game, i.e. against your friend in the same room, or an internet game? All you have to do for a local game is to have one of you start a game and then it should show up on the other person's pda. (I believe that is how it works)
As for the internet, that is a bit more difficult. Assuming you can connect to the net, you need to specify the IP address of the host of the game. This means that you can't just go on and look for a game. They usually have to be set up ahead of time, such as through an instant messaging program. The host will give you the IP of their handheld, and you will enter it by tapping specify. You should see a game appear. Tap on that game and select join, then ready. The host will start the game when all players are ready. |

I hava a zire 72 and try to connect it to my computer via bluetooth via xterraisi Bluetooth USB adapter. I can't connect to my computer.
A couple of my questions:
when connected, how do I get internet on my palm off of my usb blueooth
When connected, how do I join a game
When connected, How do I host a game
When connected, Do I have to specify a host or do they just appear? |
