Description:
(Continuation of the exit map http://www.handmark.com/warfare/forum/viewtopic.php?t=872 )

Having been successful in finding your way out by locating the exit in the last mission (really should do it first), you now are suddenly transported to another world. Strange alien lifeforms, LITTLE water, and very little vegetation should make for a trying time.

Basic Objective:
Mine everything you can, but to win all you need to do is defeat your foe.

This is my second mission.

History:
Ver1: (ThirstyV1) April 30, 2004
Tested on a T3 only but I havent even tried to win yet... basically this is a beta.

Ver2: (ThirstyV2) April 30,2004 6:13pm
Moved some units, altered a trigger and modified a unit build. Also removed some units!

Ver3: (ThirstyV3) April 30, 2004 10:45pm
Having trouble with ending the mission. This ver fixed some other odd behaviors but didnt address the mission completion issue. If you have a successful mission end I would like to know about it.

Ver4: (ThirstyV4) May 2, 2004 1:26am
*Fixed bug preventing mission completion
*Fixed lack of mission objective being set
*Fixed Mission completed summary screen and status
*Added some bad guys, fixed auto repair for some units, moved units, added units
*Altered starting credits for both sides
*gave up making player mine a certain amount or certain area - wasnt fun IMO
*There is STILL a mixup on the eCOM msg - Says from "OMNI" but shouldnt have. Not going to fix it.

Tested on/with this result (is NOT a goal or what is normal-its a test):
Tungsten T3 default difficulty
Enemy units destroyed - 111
Enemy buildings destroyed - 33
Friendly units lost - 112
Credits acquired/spent - 87541/74165
Elapsed time - 00:48:40

I was able to defeat the enimy. were is the water and what do I do with it. I cannot build any storage buildings.

Looks like it could be a good level though... good work

Im working on a few things... I actually got in a situation where I could NOT win so Im looking into that.

As for "where" the water is... scaling from PC to PDA makes it off a little but:

Its based on areas. There are just some zones that are too desolate and as such most of your characters cannot travel through them without imposing "rationing" of water. When things are rationed you are restricted! Stay near water and you can build a storage building.

You have to use your imagination a little on the plot - its weak.

OK, I have eliminated all of the enemy forces, and have scoured every inch of the terrain trying to find the trigger that completes the mission. Perhaps I have not done things in the proper order necessary to actually win the mission, but I am of the opinion that this level is impossible to win.

Could you please shed some light on things? If there are spoilers you would prefer to not reveal, please feel free to PM me.

Thanks.

Thanks Josh! With the help of the authoring section I have it fixed... disclaimer: It works for me. Smile Im going to upload a new version now.

If not already bored with it you can try again. I changed a few things to up the difficulty also.

Quick question: Did you use the same map layout from the first mission to build the second?

I just noticed the start of the mission, and it seemed familar, but I also notice the I did not leave any comments, which I usually do when I complete a authors mission.

Too be clear, what I have are two missions "loosely linked" by storyline. Each of those uses a different map. "Thirsty" being the second.

Within each mission I had a few revisions but did not make major map changes.

I just completed the mission and wanted to provide some feedback. Overall the mission was good, and I think a bit more challenging than the last. The only thing I would suggest is building more of the enemy units and send them out to attack. It was easy to mine and build a nice size army to overtake the enemy, but by sending units, it would make the mission more challenging.

I look forward to your next challenge.

Thanks for the info! I have most of the user submitted missions installed but I have a 20+hr trip coming up soon Ive been saving most of them for... so once I try them I'll be in a better mindset to make more missions after seeing what others do..
