Watfare was sure a good game, i even remember that everytime i went to doctor, the pda was in my pocket so i could play warfare... but there is alot of competivity in the game market and there have been few very very good releases that are one of the reasons many people doesnt play warfare anymore ( warfare is 2d and now there are already 3d games like "Return to Mysterious Land" which has nice graphism althou it has few jogability )

the only way warfare could be revived TOTALY was by making WI2 a 3d Strategy game where we could rotate the cameras, also new graphics should be added with most realistic textures.

but yes they were good times...i even took once my pda to school without my moms knolodge just to play warfare on the classes breaks...

GOOD Things dont last forever

I don't know about you, but I still play Warfare Incorporated quite often. I probably wouldn't buy WI if it became 3D, it would become bad. The exact same thing that happened to worms, the worms game line in it's entity was great, and 2D, however, when they made 3D games, they sucked. The classic 2D games were awesome and alot of fun, but as 3D games, everything was taken out of perspective. WI should stay as a 2D, it would become a bad strategy game as a 3D game.

no way

I like ALOT MOST the Worms 3D than i like worms Armageddon for example

i have all the worms from the 1st to the W3D and i like most the 3D than all the others togheder...

ill explain you:

When a 2D game turns 3D what happens to the playability ?? decreases !!
At the first i though W3D sucks cuz i couldnt hit a single worm... i just missed everytime... but with time and pacience i got it to the end and guess what it is easy and funnier ( Specially controling jetpac or SuperSheep ) ... if u have it dont give up cuz when u get allot good on it it is FuN

i played a 3d game, one of the newer ones, and yes, it's fun, (yes I did get better) but the 2d's are way better, also, worms isn't a strategy game, there's something about real-ime strategies, they are awesome, but when they reach 3d, playability becomes zero, and it takes the strategy aspect out of the game, and no matter how much better you may get at the game, it still won't invoke as much strategy as a 2d. but 3d looking graphics would still be acceptable

worms: turn-by-turn aim and shoot
WI: real-time strategy

there's quite a difference

is it real-time though? that's about one of the deciding factors, it's still turn by turn then a game boy advanced game can match it

What I see about 2D games going to 3D is that the gameplay and story are neglected, MOST of the time (there are some exceptions, I suppose). It really depends on the developer. The 3D development takes so long that I guess most developers just don't have time or dont remember to make a good storyline. It's a basic equation, graphics increase and gameplay/story decrease.

Compare ADOM to WOW. ADOM is a much better game IMO because it has great gameplay and a well thought out plot, with a few great touches. WOW has no storyline, but awesome graphics.

Compare Final Fantasy Legend 1 to Fire Emblem POR. FFL has tile-based sprite graphics, yet the gameplay was so great. Fire Emblem had horrible gameplay, but graphics to die for.

What I've seen is that the technology for graphics is becoming better, so users and developers both assume that the greater the technology the game uses, the better it is. Theyre completely forgetting that a huge factor in a game is the gameplay and the story, which can't be helped by technology.

My four cents...
